F-ZERO 99 – Hunting Grey Bumpers for Grands Prix

When I first started the game I thought of Grey Bumpers as simple hazards you have to avoid and occasionally can get an extra extension for your Power Meter. Until I started to purposefully hunt them down to expand the Meter early on during Grands Prix. Since the player carries on the Power Meter into the next races of a GP and Mini Prix, this method can give you an advantage over other racers.

For this guide I tested the Wild Goose and Golden Fox. The Wild Goose can take bumps and hits more easily than any other machine. The Golden Fox can refill the Power Meter extremly fast by driving over Pit Areas, which makes this a very viable strategy for it. But it also works for any other glider in the game. Just take a little more care of your bumping with the Blue Falcon and Sting Fireray when you go on a hunt.

Generally, Rocket League has casual and competitive ranked playlists where you can play 1v1 ones / 2v2 twos or 3v3 threes (and even the chaotic 4v4 in casual) but also you can play ‘hoops’ which is a basketball style match, ‘Snow Day’ – Hockey and more! There are both Community and Developer run Tournaments, Trading, Leader boards and so many things that make this game the greatest of all time. All stats and items carry across platforms (if you play on pc or console) as well so, go out there and try your best but also have fun!

It doesn’t stop there, Rocket League offers a wide range of diversity of play styles in game as well as the diverse game modes described above. There are mechanical and positional avenues that allow free form movement throughout the entire field with or without the ball, for example: mechanics such as the flip reset, air dribble, ground dribble and more are all a part of that including passing, scoring and saving making up a part of the experience this game has to offer.

Rocket League is a FREE TO PLAY game which can be downloaded through the EPIC GAMES launcher.
