I Found Fire Tower While Truck Camping

This week I head into a State Forest to find peace and quiet on this Memorial Day weekend. I went through two campgrounds before entering the forest. One was completely full, the other had a few spots open but only because the sites were horribly unlevel. As I drove through the campground the sounds of generators and chainsaws filled the air. Campers were stacked like cordwood on top of each other. People staired at my truck as I drove through the campground. It was at that point when I realized why I prefer finding a spot in the forest. I’m not saying my style of camping is best, it works best for me. My sister has a pull behind camper, she preferers campgrounds. I am surprised how empty the State Forest was. I only saw one other camper and a few ATV’s. Thanks for coming along on this week’s adventure. I’ll see you down the road.

ESCAPING A SNOW STORM | WE NEED TO LEAVE | FULL-TIME TRUCK CAMPER LIVING

We had to escape the Lake Effect snow storm and we made our way somewhere, familiar. Thanksgiving was an absolute blast and we enjoyed our time with who we were with.

We did our best to showcase the realities of what travel looks like without the camper since we left it behind. It was a big risk without being there to make sure it wouldn’t freeze but it was worth it.

Come along as we make it back to our camper and start a new journey.

Why We Love Truck Camping Texas Edition

Truck Camper Magazine visits the 2023 Texas Truck Camper Rally and asks fellow truck campers why they love their truck campers and truck camping. Note how many folks had a large motorhome or a fifth wheel and made the switch. Special thank you to the team at Princess Craft RV and everyone at the Texas Truck Camper Rally who helped us make the video!

Cold Weather Problems in the Truck Camper

This video is part-two, a continuation from last week’s video. I’m still in the St. Croix State Park and I’m still the only one here. Join along as I explore the grounds and do a little maintenance to the generator.
Every weekend in the Truck Camper is a win in my book. Hopefully we won’t have snowstorm or blizzard anytime soon so I can stay truck camping. Thanks for coming along on the adventure.
Thanks for coming along on this little trip with me!

No fishing, no camping, then the truck camper gets stuck.

In this week’s video I set out to go fishing and find a private little camping spot. I found a private spot alright; it was really quiet.
Within the last three days I started hearing frogs at night. That marks the beginning of the sucker run, so I headed to a couple of my favorite rivers. The wet and windy weather made for poor fishing, it actually made everything a struggle.
I didn’t catch any fish and finding a camping spot was almost impossible. I decided to setup camp on a piece of private hunting land. The land was super wet. The frost went out a few days ago leaving the ground saturated. Check out the video to see how the adventure unfolds.
Thanks to everyone who proved me wrong last week by reading the description of the video. It was cool to see that people are actually looking at this. Thank you for following along and I’ll see you next week.

Solo Cold Weather Truck Camping

This will be part one of my two-part adventure in St. Croix State Park located in Minnesota. I had a blast! The park was empty, and it was a beautiful weekend. Temperatures were close to 50 degrees so I didn’t even need a coat! I’m thankful for my opportunity to bring you with on my adventure. Hopefully we won’t have snowstorm or blizzard anytime soon so I can stay truck camping. Thanks for coming along on the adventure. Thanks for stopping by.

Cold Season Truck Camper Adventure in Minnesota.

This week I take the Arctic Fox to a Campground in Minnesota. The weather has been cold. The lakes are making ice. It’s one of my favorite times to explore Minnesota’s campgrounds. I share some of my tips for cold weather camping while exploring an empty State Forest. Sit back and enjoy the adventure and thanks for coming along.

Truck Camping with the Rottweiler

In this week’s video Mandi, her dog Tilli and I headed out for a weekend of winter camping. We stayed at the Rock Lake Campground. It is part of the Pilsbury State Forest. We had a great time. The temperatures never got about 15 degrees and we stayed nice and toasty. Hopefully we won’t have snowstorm or blizzard anytime soon so I can stay truck camping. Thanks for coming along on the adventure.

Winter Truck Camping in the SNOW

This week I headed Southeast to Banning State Park. My first night I was searching for campsites and stayed overnight in a truck stop. The snow is putting a cramp on my abilities to get in the woods. This was an amazingly beautiful hike. The snow is deep, but it makes the woods magical. Every weekend in the Truck Camper is a win in my book. Hopefully we won’t have snowstorm or blizzard in January so i can get back to truck camping. Thanks for coming along on the adventure.
