Danielle and Chris were married to other people before they met but tragically lost their spouses. Danielle’s husband Ryan served in the air force and was killed in action in Iraq, and Chris lost his wife Jessica who also served in the air force to Leukemia. Fate allowed for their paths to cross on multiple occasions. They carried on a long distance romance for a number of months, eventually falling in love and marrying each other!
