What’s the right kind of screw or fastener for cedar decking?

Western red cedar deck boards are just luscious. In this build, under a roof, they’ll remain so for approximately eternity.

👉 Recommended fasteners for cedar are Stainless, and I used #8 x 2 1/2-inch Spax for this job, making sure to gap the deck boards 1/8-inch as I installed them.
