¿Qué es el COMUNISMO? 🤔 ☭



📚 ☭ El comunismo es uno de los sistemas políticos más famosos ☭

Pero, ¿qué es concretamente? ¿En qué consiste? ¿De dónde nace?

👉 El comunismo es un sistema político o filosofía basada en la lucha de clases que aspira a la propiedad común de los medios de producción, e incluso a la abolición del Estado.

👉 Sus bases se teorizaron en 1848 cuando Karl Marx y Friedrich Engels escribieron el Manifiesto comunista.

👉 Pero, ¿es ese su origen? No del todo. Marx y Engels se nutren de ideas pre-comunistas de muchos siglos previos, desde el cristianismo a ideas medievales.

👉 El Manifiesto Comunista analizó el contexto de mediados del siglo XIX, marcado por la industrialización.

Posteriormente, otras figuras como Lenin, transformarían el comunismo y lo separarían del socialismo.

Views on China in Britain – Prof. T. H. Barrett



This is a follow-up interview with Prof. T. H. Barrett (SOAS), recorded in the library of the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, University of Cambridge. The goal of this conversation was to revisit some of the topics we talked about during our earlier interviews. Thus Prof. Barrett clarifies some of the things he feels he was not entirely accurate about and adds quite a few interesting comments about the way China is taught in Britain and what is lacking in this respect. He suggests that he would like to study in the future the interactions between the two countries. He also explains what pushed him, as a young boy, to study East Asia and in particular China. Finally, as in the previous interviews, he tells a series of interesting anecdotes about teaching Chinese topics in the UK and the US.
